Guy Ritchie’s Buddy Is King Arthur

Guy Ritchie. A name known around the globe for its association with another name: Madonna. Ritchie, an English filmmaker, was married to singer Madonna. That marriage lasted 8 years, so it’s definitely a long one for Hollywood standards. He entered the film industry with entry-level jobs after he left secondary school. Years later he worked his way up, at first writing and directing commercial and later, producing and directing full-feature films. Some of his movies received widespread praise. His most famous ones are ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’, ‘Snatch’, ‘RocknRolla’ and the two ‘Sherlock Holmes’ films. They’re all fun action flicks and as it turns out he’s a good action film director. Maybe partly because he has a black belt in Judo and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So, he’s not necessarily the guy you’d want to mess with in the pub on a Saturday night.
King Arthur. A character who plays a big part in the legend of the sword in the stone. He is said to have been a legendary British leader who led the defences against the Saxon invasions of Britain in the late 5th and early 6th century AD. Most details of his story are composed of folklore and scientists and historians alike still debate his true existence. There are two very famous stories in the Arthurian saga and you’ve probably heard of both. The first goes on to tell how he was the one to pull out the infamous sword in the stone thus making him the true leader of Britain. The second is about King Arthur and the knights of the round table. It’s a story of friendship, honesty and equality, hence the round table with no end and no throne around it.
So, Guy Ritchie and King Arthur both sound like pretty cool dudes. Now imagine if there’s a chance to see them in action together. Well, you can in Ritchie’s new action film.
